Department of Molecular Biology - Washington University

The Department of Molecular Microbiology is located on floors 8-11 in the McDonnell Pediatric Research Building. The 8th Floor saw multiple renovation projects, including the largest interdepartmental seminar room on campus with seating for up to 90 people, vaulted ceilings, and acoustically-treated walls. This floor also houses the eight-room BSL3+AG lab suite which contains the following: a separate entry room, work room, growing room, anteroom, two BSL3 labs, and one BSL3+AG agriculture lab.

The 9th floor holds Dr. Beverley's personal suite, along with three other major lab suites. All suites include a spacious lab, tissue culture room, computer room, conference room, lounge, and glass wash facility. The 10th floor has six individual suites with a unique imaging lab, confocal lab, and electron microscope lab. Each research lab floor has the following centralized core facility functions: cold rooms, equipment rooms, fermenter room, warm rooms, and microscope rooms. Additionally, on the south side of the building, there are three emeritus offices, as well as an office suite for the Center for Infectious Diseases.
